If I heavily overseed common bermuda with a bermuda triangle blend, will the bermuda triangle take hold or be choked out by the common?

You will need to spray the common with ‘Roundup’ before you seed another type. You will not get a complete kill with a one time spray, but it will injure it enough to give the new seed a chance to get established . Spray the roundup, wait a week, and then scalp the lawn so that the seeds do not get trapped in a heavy thatch layer. Remove clippings, seed, and topdress lightly with any organic seed topper.
