Need help with grass selection

I recently bought 3 acres in Stuart, Fl. I know nothing about grasses at all! Yard is a fine thin type grass, unlike my thick centipede type grass in Lauderdale. My question is this – We just filled some areas of property (with dirt that was taken from other areas onsite) and I need to know what kind of grass to plant. The areas are lightly shaded. I would prefer to use seed not sod. Also, when is the best season to seed, is now okay?

I live just north of you (Merritt Island) and I recently went an researched the types of grasses to use in Florida. I am in the process of revamping my lawn. The grass of choice, hands down, is Argentine Bahia. This very inexpensive seed requires little water (not sprinkler system required), grows well in direct sun and looks beautiful as a lawn. I highly recommend it.
A 20LB bag of seed with cost approximately $75.00 and will cover about 1/2 Acre.
