grass after hurricane Rita

Before we had St Augustine grass with 17 trees so it really didn’t grow that well. We now only have 1 tree so we will have lots of sun now but the yard is basically non existant due to having stumps removed etc. We did plant winter rye to help hold the soil down for the winter. What should I plant for my new yard. We are in Orange, TX (Southeast Texas)

Let the rye die out in the hotter days of mid spring. Mow short, remove clippings and seed with improved bermuda. ‘La Prima’ is a bermuda blend that is currently very popular.
