7 vs 10

I have a bermuda/zysoia lawn and am looking at used reel mowers. I have been having problems finding one. It is my understanding that 7 blades is ideal for my grass types. I have found a “deal” on a 10 blade. Would there be any disadvantages using a 10 blade on my lawn?

tmarriot,Blade count on reel mowers relates to how fine the turf you are mowing. In other words: more blades give a finer cut to shorter turf. I would not use an 11 or 10 blade reel on coarse textured turf. A 5 or 8 blade reel is best for those turf types. If the mower is a great deal, why not replace the reel and bedknife to the correct reel for your turf? A good golf course mechanic would be a great source for the parts and for the know how. If you are not sure if it will work on your turf ask th seller if you can try it out….
