I have a few horse paddocks that are overrun by goat heads (puncture vine). I purchased Image Herbicide to kill the weed so that I can remove it completely from the fields. Most of it is dead from the winter but there are small green buds that indicate to me that it has started to germinate. I currently have horses in the fields. I need to know two things. 1- How long after application do I need to wait before it is safe for the horses to graze? 2- The instructions say it takes 3-5 weeks for complete kill to occur – can I scrape the fields before this without risking a vigorous return of the weeds? Any help would be appreciated. I’m new to the West Texas landscape (from Florida) and I’ve never dealt with this weed or horses. Thanks!
