My yard has been invaded by crab grass…I use a treatment service but so far they have not been successful. I treated my lawn with Spectracide Weed Stop and Image Herbicide Concentrate. The Spectracide seems to have done a better job killing the crab grass. How can I ensure that the Bermuda will replace the dead crab grass. I have purchased Burmuda seed and starter fertilizer. At this point I don’t want to re-sod because of the cost.

I don’t know about seeding this late of growing season but just put a thin layer of compost where the crabgrass that you killed. Bermuda will take over in no time. Water them plently and they will spread. They are very invasive! I’d much rather have St Augustine but getting rid of Bermuda entirely is next to impossible. You’d have better luck of winning a lottery!
From now on, pull the weeds out. They’re easy to spot in bermuda grasses. In SA, they hide imperfections. Bermuda demands too much to look great.
