is this crabgrass?

Hi folks,
I had a crabgrass infestation at my home here in Rhode Island last year. I tore a lot of it out… repaired lawn with both sod and seeding.
I had the lawn de-thatched and fertilized in late March. Couldn’t (didn’t) apply any crabgrass pre-emergent at first because I wanted to overseed. Finally found Scott’s Starter Fertilizer with crabgrass control… applied it in late April.. about 3 weeks ago. I am starting to see what I am afraid is new crabgrass sprigs coming up. This little buggers are packed with what appear to be seeds. Maybe its another type of grass? I am going to apply some more pre-emergent, to halt any further germination, as the directions say I should in areas that were badly infested last year. I am going to try to control it by watering deeper and less frequently.
Here are a couple of pics of the “mystery” grass:http://kevinsilvia.com/crabgrass1.jpg and http://kevinsilvia.com/crabgrass2.jpg
JUST UPDATED THIS POST: I’ve been doing research… could this be “poa annua” (a.k.a. – annual bluegrass)?
If so… doesn’t seem as bad as crabgrass (I hate that stuff)… any thoughts?
Thanks in advance.
~Wayne

wkilc, it’s definitely not crabgrass. The first image is almost certainly a species of Poa, but it doesn’t look like the Poa annua that I am familiar with. For all I know, it could even be Kentucky bluegrass, Poa pratensis.
