Tif-Sport Bermuda

My Tifsport bermuda has been down for about 3 weeks now and as far as it looks as though I have Crab grass that is starting to pop up. There also seems to be another form of weed that is attempting to come up as well.

Is it safe at this point to hit the lawn with Spectracide Weed Stop 2X to treat the secondary weed and what would you recommend for the crabgrass? I have yet to be able to find anything that states at what point it’s safe to start using chemical weed killers on new sod and I am rather afraid of distressing the lawn.

Also, anyone have a link that would provide an annual lawn maintenance schedule. I am new and struggling to maintain an ideal bermuda lawn.

I wanted to add one other comment about the crab grass. To be honest I am not positive that is what sort of weed it is. I have found plenty of pictures of crab grass and it looks similar, but it is hard for me to make a 100% identification. Whatever it is I just know it’s not suppose to be in my yard.

After doing a little more research I now believe my problem is Yellow Foxtail or Barnyard grass. Dang these weeds they are all starting to look alike to me now.

Is tifsport the same as tiff 419?

MSMA and 2,4D should take care of almost everything, both are inexpensive.
