Re-sod Now ???

I have a couple of questions. I live in central Florida on the coast primarily with sandy soil. 1)Is it too late in the season to re-sod with bermuda, an 2) If not, I have two types of sod available, grown in sandy soil or grown in muck. Is either better than the other?

My thoughts-
If you have irrigation system or can otherwise water the new sod do it now and get down some good roots before growth slows down this fall/winter. I’d opt for the sod raised on sand. Muck raised sod has already adjusted to lots of water and might not adjust to sandy soil.

Thank you for you quick response to my post. Yes, I do have an irrigation system and the yard has been dressed with topsoil several times this spring/summer and heavily irrigated. I just want to kill the remaining grass/weeds before laying the sod. Should, by the first week of August give the sod sufficient time to establish root growth? Also, I need to treat the yard with Oftanol to get rid of mole crickets. Should I be aware of any contradictions with the new sod?
