Zoysia fine-broad leaf

Hello,
In my recently plugged zoysia lawn, I am seeing a few sprouts of what appears to be a broader leaf.
All of the grass was obtained from the same place.
What could be causing this variant to show up ?

Lennyk, grass contamination, if that’s what you have, can come from deep in the soil as well as the planting source. Inspect the leaves carefully, and the general rule (with some exceptions) is that while zoysia leaves are rolled in the “bud,” bermudagrass leaves are folded. Also, you can pull back these broad leaf grasses and see if they are attached to the regular strain or if they even go back to the plugs. Grasses can vary in their width of leaves, but their detailed characteristic, e.g., distribution of hairs, appearance of the ligule and collar areas that separate the outstretched leaf blade from the clasping basal sheath, tend to be (somewhat) consistent for different growing environments of the same plant.

The broad leaf grass does appear to be zoysia, I guess I will have to weed them out.
Can anything be done to speed up the growth ?Zoysia is really a slow growing grass,If I had know it was this slow I would not have used it.

Lennyk, then you must a finer leaved zoysia like Emerald?
Yes, zoysia is slow; my experience in pushing it with fertilizer was dismal, as I got massive die-back. Then when I turned my back on it and stopped babying it, it ran 100 feet from where I had planted it (over a number of years).
It make take two years for zoysia to cover from plugs in the New Jersey area, one year in Florida.
