new lawn with brown spots

I’ve been told by the guy who put the grass in it might be chinch bugs. Since i’m in Miami Florida tought it could be true but within 2weeks? Then I wastold it could be fungus due to too much water, which I know everyone knows, it’s rainy season here. I’ve spryed the lawn for chinch bugs when we had 2 days of dry weather. I don’t see wittle wittle bugs with white wings flitting about which I was told are chinch bugs. Do I have just bad grass or what. Any comment will be helpful..Thanks

How come no one can come up with an answer? I think I’ve got both chinch bugs and fungus. I’ve sprayed for the bugs but what do I do about the fungus because even though it was dry for a day or maybe two some parts of my lawn was still damp. Appreciate any info. thanks

Try 20lbs of corn meal (from animal feed store) per 1000sqft. That should control fungus and feed microbes as well which in turn gives nitrogen to the grasses. Gotta go organic. Manmade chemicals are waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay overrated and can destroy soils…

For grubs, try benefical nematodes. Google it. If you know of an organic garden store, they might have them. Benefical nematodes supposedly eat grubs… Worth a try. You have to keep the soil moisture for them to be effective. One inch per week should be enough unless you get that much rainfall.

Well thanks you all for the info on my bad grass. It seems to be working but I’ve got a few beige spots but got grass growing in there too. So thanks to you all…again
