Mushrooms

Hello, I live in Goergia about 30 miles north of Atlanta. We have gotten alot of rain in the last few weeks and I am a little concerned with a new sodded area in my yard. I laid Bermuda sod to cover where an island used to be and now there are small mushrooms all over the sod. There are no mushrooms on the established grass. What, if anything, do I need to do about this?

Just cut back on the shallow watering. Maybe aerify the mushroom spots and apply a little nitrogen. Always water “DEEPLY & INFREQUENTLY”.

Mushrooms grow in wood, there must have been some compost that was not fully decomposed in the sod. They will go away when the wood is fully decomposed.
But… If you have kids or pets you really should go to the library and find out for sure what kind of mushrooms these are, as some are deadly in very small quantities.
