Maintaining a freshly sodded yard!

I have a brand new house with a freshly sodded yard in GA. What are the steps in the next year to maintain my yard and make sure the sod roots properly and also looks nice? I am a first time house owner and until now, all I have done was cut my father’s non-sodded yard. Thanks!

If you have not yet pulled a soil sample I would do it. your local county extension service will be able to assist you in putting together a fertilizer program. Most home owners never fert right they will go to wal-mart and buy 200 pounds of 13-13-13 and put it all out at once. You will be ahead of the game buy knowing what you need to do based off your sample.
