I have St. Augustine grass and am just getting started with lawn care at my house. There is something funkly in our yard throughout…it is a tall think grass that is growing faster, taller, and darker than the St Augustine grass. Someone said it was crabgrass, but the photos I have seen show it in clumps…this is spreading throughout the St Augustine grass. It is ugly and not the regular thick dense grass that we have. Any ideas??

Probably Yellow Nutsedge. Find a product called “Manage” or “Sedgehammer”. This will take care of it.

If there is clumps of it probably is Poa Annua. Does it have seed heads on it? can you post pictures? Check out Poa Annua on the web and compare.
