Getting rid of Bermuda Grass

My lawn is St Augustine grass but in the spots that I have had Chinch bug attacks Bermuda grass has grown in, is there a easy way to get rid of the Bermuda Grass and get the St Augustine back in there.

I’m assuming that the bugs are gone.

Use plugs to fix the effected areas.It’s best to remove the Bermuda first, but will work without doing so.

Make sure you’ve killed bugs that damaged your grasses. Use round up or other grass killer products on bermuda, wait a week or so to make sure you’ve gotten all of them then plug SA. Where is it coming from? your neighbor? If so, put in 6 inches border into the ground to keep them spreading. It’s tough to completely rid of bermuda. Keep the mowing height for St Aug to MINIMUM 3 inches to shade bermuda out which will signficantly weaken them. I think there’s a product that can weaken bermuda significantly while not damaging SA but i forget what its called. You have to make sure your SA get at least 1 inch of water (irragation/rainfall) a week.
