bahia seeding

I live on the texas coast there is a lot of sand. I am about to seed open areas with bahia. Under the oaks (shady area)is St. Augustine. I put in a irrigation system last year. I have heard a bunch of watering schedules from very little to multiple times a day. Ideas ? I bought the seed from a feed store who usally is right on the money with information. He recommeds 2 times a week. I looked up the germination time of 21 days. I have 3 acres and about 1 acre will be seeded.
We have a water table of about 6-8 ft. so I figured with roots that go 8 ft deep I would have a winner.
I almost forgot Do Not over water. Floratan /Seville all strains of St. Augustine are suseptible to fungus from over…
