I was wondering if anyone had any advice about painting lines etc. on a multi-use field (we use it for football and soccer). I’m new to the whole thing and I don’t even know what the good brands of paint to use are. I’m mainly intereseted in removable turf paint. Any help would be appreciated.

Frugmel,We use Fox Valley turf paint. It comes in 16oz.cans, 12 per case. case is about $28.00. It comes in a few colors. You will need a stripper to do it right. Don’t know how much they are. As far as removable goes I’ve never heard of removable turf paint. The Fox Valley paint hangs around for about a week in the spring and fall and a little longer during the summer. Doesn’t kill the turf. Available from most turf supply or construction supply houses. Lesco makes a product very comparable but costs a few cents more in my area.

Good Luck and keep them straight…..

The question is are you spraying natural grass or artifical turf? The leaders in the industry are Pioneer Manufacturing and can be reached easily by going to their website at www.pioneer-mfg.com. They have local salesman and have bailed me out many times!

Check them out and give them a call. I use their aerosols and Brite Stripe, which is a bulk paint. Our district put in a FieldTurf artifical field in last year and they recommend Pioneer’s removable paint. It is unbelievable. I use it to cover lines (green) and put soccer lines down (white and yellow) and it comes off with ease after the games with little work and solution.

Good luck and good striping!

It’s been a while since the thread was started, but I thought I would add another option. The Remarkable Paint Company is a new business that has a patented natural grass or astroturf paint formulation that comes with a remover solution. The removal process uses the same equipment as used in the painting process and neither the paint nor the remover solutions are harmful to natural grass. Here is their website, I hope it helps: www.remarkablepaint.com
