Hello.I have St. Augusine (maybe Floratam). In several areas the stolons are brown and there are no leaves. The areas may or may not be large and are typically located near sidewalk or street. My location is Houston, TX. and it has been @ 5-6 weeks since I applies Lesco’s W&F.Can certain brands of fertilizezs be harmful to different grasses? Thanks,Matt

Matt,

It is probably not the fertilizer that is harming your lawn. It is probably the herbicide in the weed and feed that is doing the damage. Make sure on the lable it is recomended for St. Augustine. Be careful not to over fertilize your lawn. This can result in further damage as a result of fungus caused by the excess nitrogen. My only other idea is that you might have an insect problem(grubs or chinch bugs). Let me know if there is anything I can do to help. You can contact me at research@turfgrassamerica.com.
