Pumping is a simple matter of physics. The pumping volume is equal to the work done by a pump (horsepower X efficiency) divided by the pressure (“total dynamic head”). Multiply the volume by however many hours the water management district allows you to irrigate, and spread that over an area deep enough to satisfy the needs of the turf. And that’s how much of your landscape is going stay healthy.
