It appears that someone has purposely put down a chemical of some sort to discolor our lawn. It is evident because the damage only occurs on the edges where they can walk or drive by and put something on it.

Anyway my grass has yellow diagonal areas that are 2 to 3 feet in length and 1 to 2 feet wide.

What can we do to turn the yellow spots back green???

I always attack yellowing and dead spots first with a mix of grass seed and compost. If it is a high-traffic spot, or if more protection is required, I’d then cover the spot with good clean straw.

Whenever possible, I lay the compost/seed mix during clouding rainy days to help water it in.

If someone has it in for you lawn or you, you are plobably going to have to catch them doing it to make it stop.
