Tall Fescue Sod Fertilization Question

I had a landscaping company come out and regrade our yard, install drainage etc. The last day they put out some starter fertlizer and threw some fescue seed down (about 6 weeks ago). We received some heavy rain, which pretty much washed away any seed that wasn’t firmly planted in the ground. So, I purchased a few pallets of fescue sod and planted it myself.

My question is this : The sod has been down for 3 weeks, but we did not initially fertilize because the landscaping company had put down starter fertilizer only weeks before for the seed. Is it too early for me to fertilize the sod (has very good root contact etc, you cannot pull any pieces up anymore) or can I go ahead and fertilize now (before it gets to warm here in Atlanta).

Also, what kind of fertilizer should I use, should I go with another round of starter, or fertilize with the regular stuff (like Scotts turfbuilder or something similar)

Thanks

Yes you can put a starter fertilizer out now. Maybe a .5 pound nitrogen/1000sq.ft.
