Zoysia maintenance

Zoysia planted last year (2004) no real maintenance performed to this point. Weeds are sprouting, etc. Someone mentioned “top-dressing”, but have no idea? Also, “rolling” the grass?

any input would be appreciated.

What kind of weeds are you seeing? You should have put down pre-emergent as the soil warmed up to 50+ degrees to keep weed seeds from sprouting. It still may not be too late to apply pre-emergent to prevent some late germinating seeds.

If you’re seeing broadleaf weeds, try one of the broad leaf weed killers that applies via hose end sprayer. They are fairly effective if you treat the area every 2-3 weeks for 3 cycles or so.
