Zoysia grass

I am about to put sme Zoysia grass (via sod) on the lawn at this house we just purchased. My Wife is an avid guinea pig rescuer and at last count the number was 25 adn counting. Can I collectsome of the clippings from my lawn mowing regimen and let Her feed it to these guinea pigs or is it toxic to these animals. (keep in mind Guninea pigs ) need to consume vitamins C on a daily basis.Is this a cost free source of vitamin C?
