ZEON and Zenith together?

I am prepared to start laying Sod in new yard, but the local sod farms won’t be cutting Zenith for 6 more weeks. I can get Zeon now, but i don’t have enough money to do the entire yard in sod. The plan was to sod the front and then put zenith seed on sides and back. Can anyone tell me how much of a difference in appearance the zeon sod is from the zenith. Once established will it be that noticeable that I have two different varieties of zoysia in my yard. I hate to have to wait for the zenith, but there is no other seed.
Thanks

Sounds like a bad idea to me. Zeon looks like emerald (very fine blades, like needles). Zenith looks like Meyer, with wider blades. They might blend in well from far away, but will look different up close.

You will see a difference in the sod but some folks will attribute it to shading
I could not get enough Empire to sod for my yard so I bought what I could then made my own plugs (2 inch by 5-6 inch strips actually). I simply cut up a piece of sod, tossed the pieces into a wheelbarrow full of water for about 20 minutes then planted them in strips about 4-6 inches apart. Water the lawn well and you should get coverage fairly quick. I know that everyone says zoysia grows slow – but it is not really that slow. Also, about 2 weeks after you put in your plugs put down a pre-emergent. Water often and you’ll have a nice lawn soon.
