zenith Zoysia seed, plug or both?

I am interested in planting seed and plugging with zenith zoyzia. Is this a good idea?
Here are my thoughts:1. roundup (kill current grass)2. scalp cut lawn after 1 week3. aerate lawn or lite till4. seed zenith zoyzia ….wait 3 weeks and then plant zenith plugs every 12″ inches.
Should I just give up on seed and plug only or is this plan worth it? Thoughts and suggestions. Also what is the best time to start in Raleigh area North Carolina? Lastly, any suggestions on vendors of choice, recommended type of zoyzia with best success?

Few Zoysia are available in seed. Zenith and Companion are available. Companion spreads faster of the two. Nothing wrong with the plan but why plug after seeding? If you do both why not plug first or at same time?
I like the new Empire zoysia (just plugged some in my back yard) but it is not available in seed.
