What Grass?

Hey there, I live in Houston and I’m moving into a new house this weekend. There is no grass in the back. The builder laid St Aug. in the front and gave a small bag of Bermuda for the back. What type of grass and by which method would you recommend?

Just get Palmetto St Augustine.

yeah, I was infatuated with the zoysia grass and was going to try the plugs, but after all I have heard, I think not. I’ll just pay the price and lay palmetto sod.
What soil prep is needed. The soil looks like a clay soil. I haven’t done any analysis of the soil yet so I can’t tell you anything else at this time…..thanks

Where in houston? I’ve lived in houston for 20 something years… Is it a brand new house where the lot was razed over to prepare for new foundation slab? At least you don’t have to deal with limestone… That’s what I’m dealing with right now at my brand new house…
