too many rocks not enough grass

I recently purchased a some property and had a manufactured home placed on it. During the backfilling time i nooticed that there was much rock in the soil and now it looks like my yard is a rock garden of the trailer trash kind. Is there some inexpensive way to remove the rock or will adding topsoil to the property fix the problem. And if I add topsoil, will the rock eventually work its way up. thanx to all those that help with this.
