Stilt grass?

My lawn, planting beds, and my entire neighborhood are overwhelmed by a very aggressive grassy weed I’ve identified as microstegium vimineum, otherwise known as Japanese (or Vietnamese) Stilt Grass and a variety of other names. So far Barricade and various crabgrass-oriented preemergents I’ve tried have been ineffective. Anybody met this devil?

you have to use pre-emergents before they emerge- have you tried roundup and then reseeding – sounds like a good plan depending upon where you live.

Thanks, Ted. I know I have to put preemergent down in the spring, and I’m trying to figure out what to try next year. Roundup does work, but stilt grass seed remains viable for 5-7 years. The stuff comes right back.
