Smooth Bermuda Lawn in Atlanta

I’m in a power wheelchair and have a beautiful bermuda lawn that was sodded about 2 years ago. However while I don’t expect a lawn to ever be as smooth as a walkway, traveling over the lawn in the wheelchair is a very bumpy and teeth rattling experience. When viewing the lawn it it looks smooth enough, but after mowing it is fairly visible how bumpy it is. Not bumpy with mounds, just bumpy.
Recently an owner of a gardening store said there are companies that will smooth a yard by cropping it short and topping it with sand.
I’ve not found such a company, but wonder how it would be done. Could someone like my 20 yr old son be able to do this? I’ve got about 15,000 sq. ft. How much sand would it take? How would it be done?
