i want to redo my front and back yard. i don’t know what to use. Sod or reseed and which seed to use. i live in southern nj and i have shaded and sunny areas in my yard. it will be a active area in the back and not in the front. thank you

i’m assuming bluegrass. Cohiba is a regular on this board, and he’s in your neck of the woods, maybe he’ll put his two cents worth in.- sod it if you can.

damian69696,Is your yard heavily shaded? If so fine fescue is your best choice. If you have some sunlight I would suggest bluegrass/ fescue mix. If you are looking to do the work now….Sod is the way to go. Keep it really moist, but not too wet. If you want to seed….wait until late august then seed with a bluegrass fescue mix. I just got 13,000 sq.ft of bluegrass from Tuckahoe Turf in Hammonton and was extremely pleased. After two weeks you cannot see one seam! (Preparation and installation is the key) Do you have an irrigation system? If not that may influence your decision to seed or sod.
