sand for growing bermuda grass

hello, we are constructing a soccer field and are going to put bermuda grass. Our contractor suggested we fill the pitch river sand befor eputting the seeds. WIll river sand work in soccer field?

Yes. Bermuda likes sand and sand provides good drainage.
