New Zoysia coming up! Excited! Weed control advice.

Hello everyone. I am a first time home owner and new to the joys of pouring my own labor into a lawn. I decided to seed zenith zoysia and it is starting to come up. Looks like all the labor of killing, tilling, smoothing, rolling, seeding, light raking, and rolling is coming to fruition.
I am noticing some broadleaf sprouts that appear to be chickweed as best as I can tell.
Do I just have to let both germinate and run their course before I can do anything about this invasion ?
Is the chickweed going to starve my zoysia for sunlight ?
How soon can I apply something and what should I apply to help get this under control ?
I think I have read you must wait 12 weeks before using any kind of herbicide. I did read online that chickweed dies out in the pre-summer months which should be about now. Will the chickweed die out on its own as the days get hotter ?
Sorry for all the novice questions and I appreciate any advice you can offer. I live in Tennessee.
Thanks,
Landon
