new to alabama and bermuda sod

moved from n.j. to alabama and the yard sod put in march.most of the sod is green but there are big strips of brown straw looking sod.some people say that bermuda will grow and cover those spots.should those strips be replaced.or should i seed those areas.need some good advice.

Rake up the dead grass. Re-seed or put a few plugs (every 6 inches or so) from the good area into the cleared areas.
