New St. Augustine Sod

I live in Central Florida and have large patches of newly sodded St. Augustine grass. Sod has been down about three weeks. When should I apply some fertilizer to help color and root growth? What fertilizer mixture do you recommend?

use a fert. with a high middle number such as 18-24-12– it will help the root growth. don’t use a high first number- the nitrogen could damage the turf should you have a cold spell. use the high n1trogen numbers when the whether warms up in a month or so
