Need some help, pool on my lawn!

Alright, a couple of weeks ago we put up a pool, one of those portable round ones that you just fill up, no fuss no muss.
Well unfortunately when we took it down, below it obviously the grass had been crushed and smelled slightly like compost.
We have a large brown circle on our lawn now and we are just wondering if we can save it? There ARE green spots that are getting better each day, but currently our landlord is threatening to force us to replace the lawn because it is not salvagable, is there anything we can do to save it?
I have been told if we put fertilizer on it and water it can be saved and since the top part is now compost, new grass should grow through it, is this true?
Any help is appreciated, I can post pictures if needed

Pool girl,
What type of grass? Where are you? I would first try to rake out the dead stuff and try to aerate the soil. Getting air in there will help with the exchange of gases from soil to air. If you have bluegrass, fescue or ryegrass then just overseed and be done with it. Warm season grasses are a different story.
Good luck………
Was the pool worth the hassles?????We opted against it and so far I am glad we did.

You know sadly i dont know what kind of grass it is because we are only renting so we didn’t put the grass in.
The pool was NOT worth it at all, it was a lot of hassle to upkeep and now this, so it’s sucked so far.
Will we need to re-sod or just re-seed?

why don’t you ask your landlord and find out what kind of grass it is?
