need a good type of grass for dogs

I have a black lab cross and a Scottish Terrier that have left my lawn in a very sad state. There are burn spots where they urinate and poop. The back part of my yard is weeds and the front part is green grass and dead spots. I want to reseed and till and put seed in the back. I have blue grass right now. What type of grass is the best and when should I do it. I live in Central Nebraska. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I am not real familiar with the area, but you might want to try Buffalo grass. Check with the nearest sod farm in your area….it doesn’t have to be real close….just some where in the state that has the same climate as you. You don’t have to buy sod from them, but you can find out what they grow ,(whats best for your area). Buffalo grass has a faster lateral spread compared to bluegrass- which means it will fill in dead spots quicker!
