Does anyone have a solution to killing matchweed (phyla nodiflora) in St. Augustine grass? Tried weed and feed (atrazine?) but didn’t seem to work

jsherwin, I have observed poor and erratic results trying to kill matchweed (also called Creeping Charlie) with a number of different products including atrazine, Manor, Lontrel, SpeedZone St. Augustine, 2,4-D, Trimec Southern (not labelled), and some mixtures of my own. The best treatments provide 60% control of matchweed, for at least 6 weeks after treatment, but the best treatments are not the same from experiment to experiment. I am trying to understand the inconsistency.
SpeedZone St. Augustine has provided the most consistent control, but you have to be very careful with rates or you can injure your grass. Manor did very good in one experiment, and had only partial success in the other. Atrazine was ineffective in one experiment, and had only partial success in another.
The best treatments (60% control) probably suppress the matchweed long enough to grow the St. Augustinegrass more-or-less back on top.
