leveling spots in a fescue lawn

I’ve been seeding with fescue in a pretty much dead lawn sodded with bremuda for the past couple of years and would like to start leveling some spots out. Is it ok to use sand and then overseed as usually with fescue, or is it better to use topsoil or a mix? Spots are low by as much as 2-in. in areas as large as 5-ft. x 5-ft.

Sand would be fine. Topsoil is usually full of weed seeds. If you can get landscaper’s mix, that should be good, too.

Thanks Dchall. Follow-up question… is “landscaper’s mix” a specific product or just something buy the components of and mix yourself??? If the later, what is it comprised of???

Where do you live that you’re able to grow fescue? I’m in North Central Florida and want to try fescue, but it’s not sold in my area.
