Lawn turning yellow.

My St. Augustine lawn,which was put down over sand about 5 months ago is turning yellow and brown.It isn’t very thick in most areas and doesn’t seem to grow very much in between cuts.I run the sprinklers twice a week and it seems to hold water on the surface after watering.

I would pull a soil sample. It also seems that your soil may be compacted if the water is running off it. Augustine does not tolerate compaction very well. You also may call your local extension office and they will be able to help and send somebody to your house to check it.
I almost forgot Do Not over water. Floratan /Seville all strains of St. Augustine are suseptible to fungus from over…
