We live in Dewey, AZ That is central mountians (4700 ft) Arizona means DRY. I have spent much money and extream labor tryig to put in a lawn (approx 4500 sq.ft.) over the past 4 years. My husband and I have had our worst fights over how much water (well} I use to grow grass. I finally gave up and desided I would just keep the dirt looking as nice as possible Then we got the mailer about Amazoy zoysia grass. Wow, an answer to my prayers. My concerns are planting where there is no other grass. I can grow an awesome garden in this high plains desert, but I obviously need all the help I can get when it comes to having a lawn. Any help or suggestions about zoysia grass in central AZ would be a Blessing.

Consider Empire or Empress zoysia. Buy 2-3 pieces of sod and make cut your own “plugs.” I recommend long narrow strips instead of square or circular plugs. Soak them in water at least 30 minutes (a few hours is okay too) before planting.
Good luck to you.
