I am thinking about overseeding my existing lawn with a grass that will be good with alot of foot traffic. I have 4 sons. Ok, maybe alot isn’t a strong enough word in this case. I have heard that zenith zoysia is perfect, but I am no horticulturist. I need help, and all I know right now is I have alot of bald spots in my yard right now, which the guy I bought the house from sodded just three years ago. Any suggestions.

Some of the Zoysia grass varieties have better tolerance than others. I think the question of variety is more of a matter of opinion. You are right in choosing zoysia for high traffic. One problem with zoysia is that it is slow to recover from stress and damage. One thing you can do to aid your traffic problem is to aerify twice a year.

How do you aerate. What type zoysia would do well in our heat and humidity, plus our heavy clay soil. Thanks.
