Helping bermuda spread?

I have some pretty healthy bermuda in my backyard, but still have several barespots in it. There have been runners going through the barespots for over a year now.
What can I do to help it spread over the bare areas?

Water the bare areas more than the other areas. I water the bare areas in my lawn everyday by hand and the grass grows toward the water. Alternatively you can rake these areas, and put some new seed down.
