Help With New Lawn

I’m thinking about laying Bermuda Tifsport sod and needed some advice. I just had a inground pool installed in my backyard and the excess soil was spread out over the rest of the yard. I think the backyard had rye grass. Before I sod the yard what steps should I take to prepare the yard?

I’ve always read you should roundup everything you are wanting to sod over. Let it set a week then roundup everything that came back or wasn’t killed during the first round. Wait another week then level everything off, then lay down the sod.
I didn’t do that. I just pulled up all the clover, mowed low for a few days, tilled some good soil ammendments into the first 4 inches, rolled and leveled then layed down the sod. I made sure there were no gaps between the rolls of sod.
None of the old grass or clover came back and the tifsport looks great. I put it down a couple of years ago.

till it up, rake the old stuff out, wet the soil, and lay the sod.
