growing grass over removed stumps

Last fall I had several trees and stumps removed, now my problem is seeding over these areas.

Would you consider a ground cover there for awhile? How about just a mulch pile??
It’s going to take a healthy herd of microbes to rot the trunk away. Be sure you don’t put down any fungicides there. Keep the areas damp but not soaked to keep the fungi eating away at the trunks and roots. The better care you take of the area the faster the trunks will rot away.
I almost forgot Do Not over water. Floratan /Seville all strains of St. Augustine are suseptible to fungus from over…
