fresh sod

I just put down 2800 ft of sod 5 days ago. I live in AZ about an hour and a half from Vegas. The sod was beautiful the day we put it down but is now looking a bit dry and yellow in some areas. I have been watering plenty (twice a day) and getting the grass nice and wet. Does anyone have any suggesstions.

How much water is “plenty?” Is that 1/2″ or 1″ or more water each time you water? You can find out by putting out a tin can and seeing how much water collects in it when you water. Too much water is as bad as too little.
