How do I identify this variety? all crabgrass controls say do not use on this variety of St. Augustine. Any advice?

I don’t have an answer for you but here is a thought. Spray a couple of very small spots and see if it hurts the grass.

Picture a normal blade of grass, now double the width. I think image will work, but you can try the baking soda myth.
