centpede?

I live in south Mississippi and have lawn that was seeded last Spring w/ 1 part centipede to 5 parts carpetgrass. It took well but what I am seeing is growth that has many short stalks that appear to have seeds on them. I am ready to fertilize but was waiting to cut first. What do you think this growth is and should I bag or mulch when I mow. If this is weeds then I will bag and put down a good weed control when I fertilize. My whole back yard is dense with this growth. Thanks hoytm@cableone.net
