Centipede lawn with Shade – Overseed?
volabroad1 – posted 25 July 2004 13:21
I have a centipede lawn that is coming in nicely in the sunny parts. There is some shade around the corners where the lawn is thin and not surviving too well (it is hanging on, just not full or lush). Should I consider:
a) Cutting the lawn off earlier, and hardscaping or using a ground cover in those areas
b) overseeding / sprigging / planting with some type of other turfgrass?
I thought or doing B and using zoysia, but I’m not sure it’d look right and I’m afraid it’d spread into the rest of the yard and then look really bad. Should I consider creeping red fescue?
Oh, I live in Atlanta GA
