I live in Baton Rouge,La. and really need to plant centipede grass seed now. I do not work so I would be able to water it daily if need be. Do you think this is at all feasible? Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

This is a good time for seeding of warm season grasses. Take a look at this University of Florida publication for some “how to” suggestions. http://edis.ifas.ufl.edu/LH013

I moved into a new home in Belle Chasse, La. during April and needed a new lawn. Centipede is a very expensive seed and is a very slow growing turf grass to establish a new lawn. I used a turf grass with centipede seed. The turf grass came up right away and prevented me from loosing my topsoil from wind and rain erosion. The next spring I supplimented the grass with centipede seed. The existing lawn prevented me from loosing precious seed to wind and birds. It has been 4 years now and I have a very nice lawn. Hope this idea helps.
