brown patch on St. Augustine lawn

I planted a St. Augustine lawn in June and now I’m pretty sure I have brown patch and fairy ring. We have spread cornmeal twice within the last 3wks. and haven’t seen results yet. I am still being patient with that. My question is do I still water every 5days (no rain). Some areas are looking dry, but I don’t want to make the brown patch worse. And how much do I water when I do. Thanks!
